Our February concert was given by Matthew Bason, Matthew was playing his new Genos 2 set up and was, as he said, still getting aquainted with the new instrument. This certainly didn't stop him playing a great evening of music on both the Genos, which was configured with a lower Yamaha keyboard and Roland pedals. He also had his Tyros 5, which he played as a piano and his Accordion.

He opened the concert with a quite lengthy medley of Dance Music, which he called his Memories of Dance Days Medley. We then had a medley of classical tunes. He played a medley of Piano Pops on the Tyros 5 which included "Music Box Dancer", "Adeline", and "Song for Guy" and then we had a vocal as he sang "Can You Feel the Love Tonight",  The first half concluded with the "Radetsky March".

Matthew's second half started with a medley of 70's tunes which he called his medley of Misspent Youth! There followed a potpuoree of musical theatre, which included music from "Joseph", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Phantom of the Opera", "Les Miserables", "Sound of Music" and "South Pacific" plus several more. A session on the Accordion followed by way of a collection of Scottish tunes which included the "Bluebell Polka". He then sang a lovely version of "It's a Wonderful World" which brought the concert to  a conclusion barring an encore. It was a great evening's entertainment appreciated by a good sized audience.

In a change to our previously advertised programme our President Nicholas Martin B.E.M. will be performing for us so we can promise a really great evening of entertainment by one of the very best! Ian Griffin who was previously advertised for March will be with us in October. The concert takes place on Friday March 1st, .starting at 7.30pm and we look forward to welcoming you to Coronation Hall, Woodhall Spa.
